How do I convert PNG or JPG to SVG?+
Choose a PNG, JPG or WebP, select the image type, detail and colors, then vectorize. Compare the original with the result, correct regions or nodes if needed, and export as SVG. The export contains editable vector paths, not an embedded bitmap.
Can I vectorize a logo for free?+
Yes. You can trace your logo, review its colors and outlines and download SVG, PDF or EPS without paying or creating an account. Flat logos with clear edges work best; small lettering and gradients may need manual correction.
What image size can I use?+
PNG, JPG and WebP files up to 30 MB. Processing currently resizes images to at most 1024 pixels per side and 0.75 megapixels. This can reduce small details. SVG, PDF and EPS exports contain scalable curves; PNG is a raster export.
Is Vectorator really free?+
Yes. No account, no watermark and no paid export. Processing takes place on your device.
Which images work best?+
Logos, icons and flat digital illustrations. High-contrast artwork with a small palette gives the most useful editable shapes. Tiny text, scans and gradients may need manual work. Varying opacity within a color is approximated; check transparency before exporting.
Can I vectorize a photograph?+
Photo mode creates a posterized interpretation using more colors and skips curve optimization. It is an artistic effect, not a photographic replacement.
Is this the Bezigons paper implementation?+
It is an independent approximation inspired by the public paper: color quantization, subpixel contours, cubic curve fitting and bounded local refinement using polyline box coverage. It does not reproduce the paper’s exact Haar-wavelet rasterizer or all its priors.
Why can I see a thin line between colors?+
Some SVG viewers antialias adjacent paths independently. Adjust the anti-seam stroke in Export and inspect the file at your intended size. Strokes slightly expand shapes.
